Fitness Swimming & Exercise Classes
Looking for a new and refreshing way to get or stay in shape?
Tired of sore muscles and aching joints?
Looking to maximize your exercise time?
Water exercise may be the answer!
Aquatic exercise offers a stress-free mode of hitting all major muscle groups. Water lends itself to a well-balanced workout that improves all major components of physical fitness. It is a great way to gain cardiovascular stamina, improve strength and flexibility, enhance body contours, increase circulation, rehabilitate healing muscles, and control weight. Another added benefit is the fact that water gives the body a resistance twelve times greater than the same movement on land. This enables you to burn calories more efficiently.
Compare the following estimates of calorie consumption for a 30 minute workout:
• Land Walking: 135 calories
• Water walking: 264 calories
• Jogging on Land: 240 calories
• Jogging in deep water: 340 calories
Something for everybody!
• Lap Swimming
• Wave Makers-Deep Water Aerobics
• Supertones-Shallow Water Aerobics
• Arthritis-Range of Motion
• Adult Exercise-Stretching & Toning
