Q:What is VIPS?

A:The Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) Program is a National program which provides support and resources for law enforcement agencies and for community members who wish to volunteer their time and skills with a community law enforcement agency.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact us! There are many volunteer opportunities within the McMinnville Police Department. Some of those opportunities include:

  • Office Work - Filing, Typing, Telephone Assistance, Data Entry;
  • Code Enforcement - Including Abandoned Vehicle Enforcement, Parking Enforcement, Downtown Foot Patrol;
  • Crime Prevention - Neighborhood Watch, National Night Out, McGruff House;
  • Traffic Safety - Pedestrian Safety, Radar Trailer, Impaired Driving Prevention Education;
  • Child Safety Events - Kids Safety Fair, Safety Town, Bike Rodeos.
  • Bi-lingual Volunteer Program
