The mission of the Yamhill Communications Agency is to facilitate emergency health and safety assistance to member agencies and the public.

YCOM is the primary answering point for emergency and non emergency calls for police, fire and medical dispatch for all of Yamhill County, except the cities of Newberg and Dundee, which are dispatched by Newberg Dispatch Center. The geographical area of Yamhill County encompasses 729 square miles with 79,000 residents, five law enforcement agencies, nine fire departments and three medical districts.

YCOM also provides a TDD phone system for hearing impaired residents of Yamhill County and a 24 hour language line service that assists the dispatcher in providing and interpreting for most all languages. These features assist the dispatcher in providing prompt emergency responses to all of Yamhill County's residents.
