McMinnville Receives Project of the Year Award

The City of McMinnville has been awarded a "2016 Project of the Year" award by the Oregon Chapter of the American Public Works Association (OR APWA) for the recently completed Water Reclamation Facility Expansion Project.

Project of the year awards are given to recognize "excellence, innovation and cooperation with regard to the management and administration of public works projects."

The City’s $13.2-million Water Reclamation Facility project was a complex, multi-year project, that was finished in 2016. The project was completed approximately $2.4-million under budget (master plan project estimates for the work totalled $15.6-million), and with a total construction change order cost of 1.6% -- well below industry average.

The City received the project of the year award at the recent OR APWA Fall conference in Bend, OR. As a state chapter award winner, the project will be forwared to the National American Public Works Association for consideration for a national project of the year award.
