Field Operations Division

The Field Operations Division encompasses several sub-divisions or specialized programs designed to address specific needs within the community and to enhance the safety of its citizens. These programs include:

  • The Patrol Division
  • The K-9 program
  • The Honor Guard program
  • The Reserve Officer program

The Patrol Division:

The men and women assigned within the Patrol Division are tasked with responding to emergency calls for service, as well as other reported crimes and complaints. They are committed to preventing and combating crime by providing quality customer service in a safe and professional manner. The men and women who work in the Patrol Division are the uniformed Officers who respond to the majority of calls for service. Therefore, they represent the most visible and accessible police presence within the community. Each Officer in the Patrol Division knows working with community members and citizens is the most effective way to keep our community safe. Patrol Officers proactively communicate with the residents they serve to help identify key problem areas and behaviors that are negatively impacting our neighborhoods and business districts. Through these contacts Officers can coordinate focused patrols and educate citizens on effective crime prevention strategies. Each Officer works to uphold the mission of the Police Department and strives to adhere to our highest values; Dedication, Excellence, Honesty, Integrity, Humility, and Service.

The Patrol Division is comprised of twenty-six sworn Officers, Corporals and Sergeants. The patrol Officers, Corporals and Sergeants are divided among four squads/teams. Daily shifts are supervised by a patrol Sergeant, who in turn works under the overall direction of the Field Operations Division Captain.
