Application Packet for Special Event Permit

THE FOLLOWING EVENTS REQUIRE A SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT APPLICATION

  • Special Events that occur on public or private property that does not fall within the designated use of the building/property.
  • Events that involve use of or closure of public right‐of‐way or public owned property, use of public personnel or resources for planning, inspections, prevention, emergency response, or any combination of these elements.
  • Organized athletic events such as but not limited to, walk/run/bike events, that involve the use and/or closure of streets or public right of way.
  • Special Events that take place in non-assembly buildings (tents, warehouses, parking garages, or vacant buildings) when the occupant load exceeds 49.
  • Fenced outside events when the occupant load exceeds 49.
  • All events with 6 or more vendor booths.  
  • All haunted houses, regardless of occupant load.
  • All outdoor concerts, regardless of occupant load.

APPLYING FOR A SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT

To apply for a Special Event Permit, please complete and submit the following at least 45 days in advance of your scheduled event start date. Some events may require and earlier application based on the size and scope of your event. 

The following sections MUST be completed by the event coordinator for ALL EVENTS:

Event Application, pages 5-8, must be signed and dated.

Attached site plan, sanitation plan, and parade/athletic event traffic control plan, map, and contacts.

Certificate of Liability Insurance.

All event fees paid.

EVENT PERMIT PACKET

Pages 1-4 contain packet instructions, please read carefully before submitting. 

Pages 5-8 consist of the permit application. Please fill out these pages carefully and add attachments if additional space is required. Submit pages 5-8 of the Permit Packet and attachments only. If pages 11 and/or 12 are required, they may be submitted separately. 

Pages 9-10 contains details required for the event site plan, sanitation plan, and traffic control plan for parades and athletic events.  Please attach your site plan, sanitation plan, and traffic control plan on a separate page.  

Pages 11-12 are street closure and sound amplification notification forms. Those may be turned in separately if required. 

Page 13 contains a concession and vendor safety list to be distributed to all of your vendors and food concessions. 

Pages 14-16 contain Permit Terms and Conditions. By submitting this permit application, Applicant agrees to abide by the Permit Terms and Conditions (pages 14-16 of packet), if this permit is approved.

Page 17 contains instructions for drag and drop towing if required for street closures.
