My dog got out and I can’t find them.  How do I report them missing?

If you are a McMinnville resident you can access our lost/missing dog form (here).  Submissions will go to the police department and will be kept on file until the dog is returned.

My dog got out and I can’t find them.  How do I know if they have been picked up?

Check our Facebook page for recently found dogs and check any of the numerous citizen group social media pages.

My dog got out and I’ve been notified by Law Enforcement that they have been picked up and are at the shelter.  How do I get them back?

If McMinnville Police or a citizen has picked up your dog, you will need to contact Homeward Bound Pets, 10601 SE Loop Rd, during normal business hours (Tuesday-Friday 08:30am – 4:30pm, closed from 1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.; Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) to start the reclaiming process.  If your dog isn’t currently licensed and they are required to be licensed due to age, you will need to get them licensed through Homeward Bound Pets.  Before your dog can be redeemed, you will need to provide verification that it is licensed.  You may contact  Homeward Bound Pets to confirm costs for kenneling and schedule a redemption time. 

I found a dog out roaming around, whom do I report it to?

Depending on whether or not you are able to contain the dog, you may follow the steps below:

• Contact YCOM at 503-434-6500 to report the location and description of the dog if you are not able to contain them, are only able to hold them for a short period of time, they only have a license tag visible or if the dog has no identification available.
• Contact the owner of the dog if you are able to contain the dog and there is identification/contact information available on the dog’s collar.

***The redemption process of an impounded dog must be conducted at Homeward Bound Pets during normal business hours, Tuesday-Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm (closed between 1:00pm-1:30pm) and Saturday's 8:30am-12:30pm ***
